Firework Phobias

Dogs and cats can suffer from anxiety in strange or stressful circumstances. Rarely is this problem more pronounced than during firework season. When you consider that a pet's hearing is hundreds of times more sensitive than our own, even a small firework can sound like a house falling down to canine or feline ears.

There are several different approaches to firework phobia but one of the most effective is the herbal remedy skullcap and valerian, supplied by Dorwest Herbs.

This veterinary herbal medicine relieves anxiety, nervousness and excitability in dogs or cats and can be given a week before firework night and continued right up until the season has ended.

For acute situations, Valerian is available as a liquid, which can be given orally or dripped onto bedding, acting in around 30 minutes to provide quick relief from the stressful effects of the loud explosions going on outside.

We supply a full range of Dorwest Herbal remedies.
